Grant High's Pacers are quietly one of the Sac-Joaquin Section's toughest outs

The Del Paso Heights program closed out 2025 with playoff wins over Cordova and Edison before a one-score loss to Oak Ridge.

Grant High School's football program, based in Sacramento's Del Paso Heights neighborhood, has spent decades building a reputation for physical, defense-first football under the Pacers name — and the 2025 season did nothing to dent it.

Grant beat Cordova 48–7 on October 30 to open its CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 playoff run, then followed it up with a 35–22 win over Edison two weeks later. The Pacers' season ended on November 21 with a narrow 9–7 loss to Oak Ridge, a single-score margin that reflected how competitive Grant's defense kept the game even against a favored opponent.

The program's history includes producing players who've gone on to college and professional careers, and Grant's games remain a community fixture in Del Paso Heights, drawing alumni and neighborhood support that dates back generations.

With most of this season's rotation eligible to return, Grant enters next fall as one of the section's more likely teams to make another deep playoff push.
